2 Do not plug in a good donor until it is programmed. Plugging in before programming will jump the miles up and illuminate a red mileage discrepancy dot.

Some models of F series switched from CAS (key security module) to FEM and BDC keys are now stored inside FEM and BDC Module this will cause a no start after replacing a donor FEM BDC module. FEM stands for Front Electronic Module.

BDC stands for Body Domain Controller. 1 Series - F20, F21 (and F52 in China). 2 Series - F22, F23, F45, F46, and F87 (M2). 3 Series - F30, F31, F34, F35 and F80 (M3).

4 Series - F32, F33, F36, F82 and F83 (M4). X1 - F48 and F49.

X5 - F15 and F85. Mini - F54, F55, F56, F57. What causes the FEM or BDC to go bad. 1 Programming keys or performing a software update on a FEM or BDC module with cheap scann tool or no stable voltage charger while programing.
